The greater ease with which you have access to land, and the ways that you can interact with land, the easier it is for you to be health, live longer, have better nutrition, better fitness, and even better mental health.
This is part of why it is so valuable that we have so much public access land. Public access land helps to meet the real needs of citizens who do not yet own their own private land to interact with for the sake of their mind, body, and spirit.
In addition to forming a 501c3, in the past couple of years I also invested about $5,000 in a continuing ed program that was not related to real estate. That program was an elite program through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
The subjects of health, nutrition, and sports science are areas that I am extremely passionate about. It is important to me that I learn everything I can about the science of health and longevity, and that when I speak about these topics, I am able to prove some of what I know with credentials.
I will be taking my first set of exams for my first set of coursework with this program in the next seven days.
Anyway, I have been studying topics related to health for many years, and I find longevity studies very fascinating.
Investing in land, and property, is an incredible investment in your health, and the health of your family. In so many ways, it benefits us to have ease of access to private land that we can interact with in a large variety of ways.
You may not have heard of Dan Buettner, but he is a world famous longevity scientist. He has studied the places all over the world where people most often live to 100+ years of ages. I read several of his published works over the years, and soon he has a new documentary being released on Netflix, so check it out!
In one of the National Geographic Publications which was titled:
"Blue Zones: The Science of Living Longer" 1/7/2022
is filled with tips about the lifestyles that created these outcomes, and it is truly beautiful and fascinating.
Dan Buettner is easy to find on YouTube.com as well in a variety of education talks, and he has written many best selling informative and educational books on the topics of healthy lifestyles, and of longevity. His books are easy to find on Amazon.com
Below is an exact excerpt from pg 9 in the magazine, and you will notice a lot of factors that have to do with the ease with which these people have access to land, and interact with the land:
" The Power Nine - Many residents of the original Blue Zones practice nine healthy lifestyle habits that help them live longer, healthier, happier lives.
Move naturally. - The world's longest lived peoples are constantly nudged into moving by the environment that surrounds them. Every trip to work, to a friend's house, or to church occasions a walk.
Purpose. - ...people say they have something to live for beyond work...why I wake up in the morning. Research shows a sense of purpose is worth up to seven years of extra life expectancy.
Downshift. - ...have developed routines to shed stress: ...remember their ancestors...pray...nap...
80 Percent Rule. - ...remind themselve to stop eating when their stomachs are 80 percent full...if Americans adopted this...could lose and average of 17 pounds in the first year.
Plant slant. - Beans...are the cornerstone of most centenarian diets...
...
Right tribe. - Social circles support healthy behaviors...friends who are committed to each other for life.
Community. - ...faith-based services 4 times per month.
Loved ones first. - ...They invest in their children with time and love, and children care for their elders. ...having a life partner can add up to three years life expectancy.
If you read the entire magazine, and some of Dan's books, however, it really elaborates in great detail about the lifestyles people have in these regions: they are VERY connected with their land and interacting with it constantly. They are walking, hiking, landscaping, gardening, growing their own organic food, cooking at home and with friends/family, and everyone is supporting one another in these land-interactive lifestyles, with tons of natural movement.
On pg 14 of this particular publication, a mini-documentary is shared about on man, Stamatis Moraitis, which is quite fascinating. He was a Centenarian as well. Almost forty years before he went to be with God, he was diagnosed with lung cancer. He was in his 60s at the time, and was living in New York, so he chose to return to him homeland of Ikaria, where he resided with family he loved on lands of vineyards that were hilly. He planted and tended a vegetable garden. On Sundays, he walked to church. He worked in the vineyard fields daily. He napped daily after lunch. He spent times with friends at a local tavern regularly. He went to be with the Lord in 2013. He never underwent chemotherapy, took drugs, or sought any kind of treatment for his cancer. He just moved home, and practiced a completely health lifestyle: the BlueZone Lifestyle ( a land-connected lifestyle ).
Dan, and he research team, really break it down into a ton of detail about many regions they studied. The Netflix documentary is going to be spectacular.
I encourage everyone to watch it. Having ease of access to land changes your life! Additionally, I can tell you that it might sound like common sense, but there are countless studies that prove that the more you move, the more your exercise, and the more you spend time in nature and interacting with the land, the lower your disease rates, the better your health, and the longer you live, period. The results are especially true in the area of cardiovascular exercise, whether mild, moderate, or intense. But, it doesn't have to be intense! Even lots of mild, or a mix of mild and moderate cardio is life-changing.
How might your life, and the lives of your loved ones, improve if you owned land?
I pray that God blesses you with health, wealth, and wisdom today and always.
